What a Weekend for Mandy
I'm not a writer, I'm a truck driver, but I like to type up a recap of each tournament's results that may cover what the numbers don't. Even though I did not have the time or was unable to comment immediately after the first 2 tournaments of this year, I would like to restart the editorial column with this tournament.
Mandy Haugen not only won Saturday at Bowlero Lanes in the 9 Tap Tour, she won at Paradise in the 616 on Sunday and shot 290 in the Emerald Queen Draft League on Wednesday which is on a PBA Sport Condition! She averaged 11 pins over her entering average and won 6 out of 8 games helping her team to victory. Mike Kennedy, anchor bowler for team Gustafson, finally wins a 616 after finishing 2nd 4 times.
I would like to thank Ray Nelson for stepping in and helping us get through the rest of the day, running the tournament old school....on paper. Without having details of everyone's statistics, we held off on the voting of Bowldoc's bowler of the tournament. It is still pretty easy, as it did Sunday, to announce Jeremiah Meno as the winner. His numbers are over powering as he averaged 226 (+22) and won 6 of 8 match points. Jeremiah wins a $50 gift certificate to Bowdoc's Pro Shop.
The 616 staff had a rough go with all electronics, with the BLS program, printers and Videos. We were unable to catch, which I believe, the most entertaining Duel to date. Ken Ross defeated Jason Green in the 9th and 10th frame roll-off for $50. The BLS program, as it turned out, does not work well with Konica/Minolta printers. I had to completely uninstall the printers programs to get BLS to work correctly and finish the input of scores. I plan to upload a press release like the following after each tournament.
It is a short week as this weekend the 616 will be at Roxbury Lanes with Roxy's Casino adding $500 to the prize fund. To reserve a spot and to avoid a late fee, send us your $60 reservation before Wednesday through the mail or through PayPal. We have to have time to process funds so we are able to continue paying out cash same day. The Pre Pays also allow us to give each hosting center a heads up on how many teams we will have and help us reserve the right amount of lanes. This year I do not reserve more than 24 lanes as I do not want to hold up any lanes for the house to schedule for more revenue.
