The 616 Avoids a Name Change
After the first 8
tournaments, Ricky Frey's team had won 3 events. Today Frey had looked to go for
a 4th title sitting 2nd after 3 games and Team Frey looked to own the 616 Swiss
Trios, therefore suggesting the need of changing the name to Ricky Frey's 616
Swiss Trios.
Pacific Lanes is known for its high scoring and today was no different.......kind of. We did not have a 300 game shot and the 300 pot continues to grow despite many efforts. Game 2 thru 8 all had high games in the 270's except for game 7, just a mere 268. James Schierman had the most noticeable 279 having the first 9 strikes before leaving a 10 pin on the first ball in the 10th, in game 4. The 300 pot is now up to $377. I would like to thank Bob Mosier for helping the 616 out between each game on the microphone running the "Show Off Pots". If you watch the Duel videos you can hear me laughing while filming, I really enjoy his commentating. He is quick and improves very well, even when the action is a little dull. This week Rich Eaton walks away with $50 defeating Scott Schimming.
We continued to try out our new format to get more
bowlers involved and have more chances at making money. Greg Wolf only
needed 9 or better after Louis Catiller knocked down 7, Joe bowler
knocked over 8 in a high count winner take all. Greg thought he needed 9
pins exactly and lines up "Brooklyn" Thank you to all 25 teams that came out to compete, many of you who travel a long distance. Make sure to take note on the schedule adjustment, we had a tournament scheduled on Easter. These changes also avoid back to back weekends and avoids the final tournament at Sunset Bowl on April 13th, WCT Doubles. Next 616 Swiss Trios is at Narrows Plaza Bowl March 30th!
